Dr. Thomas F. O’Leary Jr. entered into rest on Dec. 7, 2019. His wife, Sheila, and forever love was at his side with his family in attendance.
He was the eldest son of Thomas F. O’Leary Sr. and Mary B. (Gore) O’Leary of Roslindale. He was predeceased by his dear sister Joan Marie O’Leary and Younger brother Attorney Richard R. O’Leary. He leaves his brother, John R. O’Leary and his wife Elizabeth of Wildwood, Fla.; and nephews John O’Leary Jr. and family, Stephen O’Leary and family, Marybeth Mayo and family. His caregivers Linda Cianprocca, and Marsha Coffee.
He enjoyed reading many books on history. He was passionate about education and attended Salem State University after retiring.
He graduated from Harvard in 1952 and Boston College School of Medicine in 1956. He was a general surgeon at Lynn Hospital and Union Hospital for many years, retiring in 1988.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at CUFFE-MCGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. His funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield, at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
