NEW HAMPSHIRE — Carmella Rose (LaTerza) Gioia, 85, of New Hampshire and formally of Lynn and Peabody, passed peacefully Thursday, Dec. 5 surrounded by her loving family following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Dominic Gioia.
She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Irene (Allard) LaTerza. She was raised in Saugus and graduated from St. Mary’s High in Lynn.
Rose is survived by her husband, Dominic; her son, Paul Gioia of Bridgton, Maine; her three daughters, Donna Gioia and her husband Peter Bennett of Hampton, N.H., Angela Gioia and her husband Steven Cole of North Providence, R.I., and Patricia and her husband Edward Casey of Wareham. Her six grandchildren, Robert S. O’Leary, Shane and Alexandra Taylor, Harold and John Irving, Christina Richert; and her great-granddaughter, Emma Welch; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Christopher, Leo and John.
Service information: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at Saint Ann’s Church, Lynn Street, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
