WARWICK, R.I. — Mr. Michael G. McGinn, age 66, of Warwick, R.I., died on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Kathryn (Blake) McGinn, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late James and Anna (Heffernan) McGinn. He was a graduate of St. Pius V Elementary School and of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1967. He then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Providence College. He has lived in Rhode Island since attending Providence College.
Michael was a CPA and worked at the corporate headquarters of CVS for 28 years.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who loved spending time with his family. He was also a fan of the New England Patriots and an avid golfer and reader. He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed the two trips that he and his wife made to Ireland.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Erin Anthony and her husband Jason of Rockville, Md., and Colleen Simms and her husband Andy of Cohasset; three grandchildren, Caitlyn Elizabeth Simms, Kelsey Rose Simms and Blake Anthony; a sister, Patricia Mooers of Pelham, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Mary McGinn, Eleanor McDonald and Eileen Coffey.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at 8 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Pius V Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
