LYNN — John Morgan Bingham Jr., of Lynn, passed peacefully on Monday morning, April 6, 2020, with his daughter and girlfriend by his side.
John was born Feb. 13, 1954. He was the oldest son of the late Lorraine H. (Smith) Bingham and John Bingham in Lynn. He received his high school diploma at Lynn English High School. After completing high school, he served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer and U.S.A.R. Airborne from 1974-2003. However, his education didn’t stop there, he earned his associates degree at North Shore Community College.
He worked for the Big Dig, ReEnergy Roxbury, People Ready, and lastly, Unlimited Removal and Demolitions as a heavy equipment operator. But let’s not forget, he was also a Mason.
John is well-known for his love of basketball, food and music. After playing basketball in high school, he decided to become a referee years later. He loved desserts, different meal choices and enjoyed cooking. His fondness for jazz and soul music was quite evident to the people he knew.
John’s family would like to extend a thank you to those who have reached out.
John is survived by his daughter and son, Janiell Bingham of Boston and Johnnie Veins; his girlfriend, Priscilla Graves of South Carolina; his siblings, Joseph Bingham, Bryan Bingham and his wife Luisa Bingham, Pamela Freeman and her husband James Freeman, and William Bingham and his fiance Rebekah Suggs; his nieces and nephews; and other loved family members and friends.
