SAUGUS — Mrs. Kathryn P. (Mullen) Forbes, age 66, formerly of Chelsea, died at her residence on Thursday, Dec. 6. She was the loving wife of John F. Forbes, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Chelsea, Mrs. Forbes was the daughter of the late Francis and Joan (Lyons) Mullen. She had been a resident of Saugus for 63 years.
Kathryn worked as an R.N. at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was a member of the North Shore Irish Association, the Independent Living Center in Salem and was a former chairperson for the Handicapped Commission in Saugus.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Forbes is survived by one son, David Forbes and his wife Leah of Dunstable; one daughter, Eileen O’Connell and her husband Shawn of Saugus; four grandchildren, Shawn, Abigail, Ryan and Sarah; one brother, Francis Mullen of New Hampshire; three sisters, Maureen Larkin of Medford, Eileen Robbins of Lynn, Christine D’Eon of Saugus.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the BISBEE-PORCELLA Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
