SAUGUS — Formerly of Lynn, Mrs. Ruth F. (Porter) Ruggeri, age 87, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Thursday, July 26th. She was the loving wife of Peter Ruggeri with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn, Ruth was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Genevieve M. (Amero) Porter. Ruth had been a resident of Saugus for 64 years. She was a member of the Hammersmith Quilt Guild and enjoyed making dolls and teddy bears. She also loved to garden.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ruggeri is survived by her beloved daughter Jennifer Ruggeri of Saugus; dear sisters, Alice Perry of Revere, May Porter of Swampscott, Rose Woodrum of Lynn; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight siblings, Edna Hogan, Lillian Freeman, Shirley Baird, Albiny Porter, Julia Porter, Nancy Prendergast, Joan Bajdek, and Norma Porter.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend an hour of visitation in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Tuesday from 10 -11 a.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
