LUSBY, Md. — Betty Scaparro, 87, of Lusby, Maryland, died Tuesday morning, July 3, 2018 at home in the presence of her loving family.
Betty was born on February 9, 1931 in Lynn to the late George Young and Mable Benner. Two years after her husband Joseph passed, she moved to the Lusby area in 2005 from Beverly.
Betty was a voracious reader of books and magazines and a self-proclaimed intellectual. Her passions included politics and the inner workings, and gossip, of the Hollywood movie and TV business as she participated in both politics and movies/tv.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Norman Scaparro, whom she married in 1952, and is survived by her two daughters, Dolores Ann Johnson of Exeter, N.H. and Wendy Curry of Long Island, N.Y.; two sons, Joseph Norman Scaparro of Hobart, Iowa, and John William Scaparro, of Lusby; five grandchildren, Jeremy Scaparro, Justin Scaparro, Jessica Scaparro Stavish, Ashley Curry Taliento, and Matthew Curry; six great grandchildren, Kayla Joy Patz, Ethan Scott Patz, Amelia Raine Scaparro, Willam Xavier Scaparro, Giovani Joseph Scaparro, and Willow Luna Stavish; two sisters, Marilyn Blackmon of Darlington, S.C. and Margorie Williams of Newport News, Va.; also several nieces and nephews.
