Georgia (Zavras) Parasco, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sparta, Greece, to the late Pandelis and Athena (Vinou) Zavras, Georgia moved from Greece to Lynn in 1957 with her husband Peter. They shared many wonderful years of marriage and companionship in their cherished family home in West Lynn.
Georgia and Peter managed several local Richdale stores and primarily Richdale in Market Square for more than 20 years. She was a member of the St. George Ladies Philoptochos Society, and was involved in the church PTA. Georgia enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her friends and family, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports. She also loved reminiscing about her childhood in Greece.
Georgia is survived by her son, William Parasco and his wife Janet of Sandown, N.H.; daughter, Anastacia (Stacy) Saltzman-Dupuis and her husband Fred of North Reading, son, Peter Zavras; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, three brothers, two sisters, and her brothers and sisters-in-law.
Service information: Georgia’s funeral will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery Lynn. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
