PEABODY — Mrs. Dalena (Armitage) May, age 71, of Peabody, died suddenly on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Beverly Hospital. Dalena (Dal) was the wife of the late Lawrence (Larry) May, whom she shared 43 years of marriage with. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John and Dalena (Braccio) Armitage. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, and had lived in Peabody for the past 43 years.
Dalena had worked as an executive secretary with Sears for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Dal loved traveling with her late husband Larry, and continued traveling with her daughter, Cristy. She especially enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Dal remained close with her “Sears crew” and enjoyed countless moments with them. Her three grandchildren were her world, and her greatest joy came from spending time with them and attending their many activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Cristy French and her husband, Thomas, of Peabody; three grandchildren, Katie, Ashley and Matthew French of Peabody; her niece, Linda Baldini, of Nahant; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Service information: Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St (Rt 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery.
