Mr. Donald P. McCormick, 65 years of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He is the husband of Mrs. Deborah (Coughlin) McCormick.
He was born in Lynn and is the son of the late Merle and June (O’Blenes) McCormick. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He lived in Lynn most of his life and the past 8 years in Peabody.
He was employed as a machinist for Metal Spinners in Malden for 10 years. He was an avid sports fan. He played softball and he enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved carpentry and handy work. In most of his relative’s homes there is something that Don had his hands on. He enjoyed boating and trips to his camp in Waterboro, Maine. Mostly he was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be missed.
In addition to his wife Deborah with whom he spent 47 years of marriage he leaves his son, Donald P. McCormick, Jr. and his wife Kristen Colangelo of Haverhill, his daughter Danyelle McCormick and her wife Cristy Martel of Meredith, N.H., his grandchildren Kayla McCormick of Lynn, Trinity and Declan McCormick both of Haverhill. He leaves his brothers and sister, Richard McCormick and his wife Cindy of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Debra Lozzi and her husband Nick of Peabody, and Robert McCormick of Lynn. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rte. 129) Lynn from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A brief service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
