John R. LeBlanc, 62

LYNN — John R. LeBlanc, age 62, of Lynn, died on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, surrounded by his loving family, from injuries he sustained during a fall at his home on May 24. He was the loving husband of Lynne (Sperlinga) LeBlanc.

Born in Saugus in 1955, John was the son of Alfred LeBlanc and his late wife Joanne and Ernestine (Meaney) Quinn and her husband Paul. He was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School.

John worked as an advanced aircraft engine mechanic at the General Electric River Works Plant, West Lynn for more than 43 years, retiring on April 1, 2017 and was a member of IUE-CWA Local 201.

Known as “Johnny Jeep” by his family and close friends, he was the proud owner of many Jeeps throughout his lifetime, until his recent switch to trucks, of which he owned a Ford F150 that he loved. John was a simple guy, who liked to spend time at home cooking meals for everyone in his family or tending to his garden of tomatoes. Away from home, he was a frequent visitor to some of the local bars and could always be found at Market Basket at 7a.m. every Sunday morning. Growing up, he enjoyed playing baseball and later played park league softball in Lynn for many years. He enjoyed socializing and traveling with his family and friends especially to Florida and Aruba. John was a loving son, husband, brother, uncle and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his parents, Alfred LeBlanc of Lynn and Ernestine and Paul Quinn of Lynn; his wife, Lynne LeBlanc of Lynn and her children Kalyn and Christopher Karassas; his brother, James LeBlanc and his wife Dawn of Danvers; his sister, Donna Mason and her husband Larry of Lynn; his sister-in-law, Beth LeBlanc of Englewood, Fla; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Anne Sperlinga of Saugus; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Jeff Cole of Bradford, and his many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was the brother of the late Paul LeBlanc and Cheryl LeBlanc.  

Service information: A memorial service will be held in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Daniel J. Richard, 62

PEABODY — Mr. Daniel J. Richard, 62 years, of Peabody, died unexpectedly at home, on June 3, 2018. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Arnold) Richard.

He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Philip and Mildred (Morelli) Richard. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He was a graduate of Northeastern University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacology. He has lived the past 33 years in Peabody.

He was employed for many years as a pharmacist working for Brooks Pharmacy, IWP, and Union Hospital. He was also a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker in Lynnfield. Most recently he worked as a clerk in the Boxford Post Office. Mr. Richard enjoyed music, going to concerts and reading. He enjoyed walks on Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield and puttering around his house. He loved all animals especially dogs and cats. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle O’ Keefe and her husband Brian of Cary, N.C., Kristina Richard and her fiancé Shane Waterhouse of Peabody; his granddaughter, Margaret “Maggie” O’Keefe; his two brothers, Philip Richard and his wife Alicia of Lynn, John Richard of Minneapolis, Minn.; his brother-in-law, Steven Arnold and his wife Andrea of Lynn. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Philip and Sara, and several cousins

Service information: His memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the West Congregational Church, 27 Johnson St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Kathleen A. Boyle, 83

LYNN — Mrs. Kathleen A. “Kay” (Manning) Boyle, 83 years, of Lynn, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is the wife of Leonard W. Boyle.

She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late John F. and Nora B. (Lee) Manning. She was raised in Lynn, graduated St. Mary’s Grammar School in 1949 and St. Mary’s Girl’s High School in 1953. Kay has lived in Lynn all of her life.

Kay was a lector at Sacred Heart Church in Lynn and taught CCD there for 10 years. She was a member of the Boston Archdiocesan Cursillo Committee from 1968 to 1970. She was employed at New England Telephone, American Mutual Insurance, Hansen Dental in Swampscott and Summit Provisions.

In addition to her husband Leonard with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, she leaves her sons and daughters, Karen J. Gagne of Salem, Joseph F. Boyle of Torrance, Calif., Thomas M. Boyle and his wife Lee Anne of Clifton Park, N.Y., L. James Boyle of Beverly, Laura J. Geary and her husband Joe of Lynn. She is the sister of Barbara M. Capone of Pensacola, Fla. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Justin, Andrea, Matthew, Marc, James, David, Catie and John; eight great-grandchildren, Liam, Gab, Roman, Nolan, Isla, Levi, Meghan and Paige. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She is the mother of the late Kevin C. Boyle and sister of the late Marion F. McEachern and John P. Manning.

James M. Perry, 54

SAUGUS — Mr. James M. Perry, age 54, died unexpectedly on June 5 at his home in Saugus. He was the loving husband of his high school sweetheart, Susan E. (Cargill) Perry, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.

He was the devoted son of Jack and Theresa (Giannino) Perry of Saugus. Jim was a sales representative for Verizon and the current coach of the Lynnfield Girls Varsity basketball team. He was previously a coach for the Saugus town, travel and the high school girls varsity basketball teams for many years. Jim was a history buff and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jim also leaves two loving children, Matthew Perry, Jenna Perry-MacKenzie and her husband Dave, all of Saugus; two sisters, Sharon Stretton of Saugus, Kimberly DiCicco and her husband Tony of New Hampshire. Also survived by his uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and close friends.

SAUGUS — Mrs. Catherine E. (Boudreau) Glionna, age 86, died on Friday, June 1 at her son’s home in Georgia. She was the wife of the late Leonard A. Glionna.

Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Urie and Mary Daisy (Pothier) Boudreau. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, O’Neil & Glionna Insurance Agency. Catherine was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of the Saugus Senior Center.

Mrs. Glionna leaves three loving children, Carol Ann Rinaldi and her husband Craig of Lynnfield, Thomas Glionna and his wife Maryam of Georgia, Joyce Ripizanzi and her husband Stephan of Wilmington; two beloved grandsons, Alex and Wil; her dear sister, Louise Ruggiero of Malden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

John F. Gray, 68

LYNN — John F. Gray Jr., 68, formerly of Nahant, passed away Tuesday, June 5 after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late John Gray Sr. and Edith (Fay) Gray.

A graduate of Lynn Classical and Navy veteran, he was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Diana Gray, of Lynn; children, Kristin McKay and fiancé Ray Harriman of Swampscott, daughter, Colleen Gray and partner Jill DaSilva of Northampton, son, Michael Gray and partner Ellis Duley of Maryland; and grandchildren, Connor McKay, Hailey and Josh Harriman and the late Kenneth McKay III.

A former radiology technician at NSMC he was an avid fan of the Red Sox and loved the outdoors, sightseeing and the beach. He also enjoyed volunteering with groups such as the Boy Scouts and the Saint Vincent De Paul food bank at Saint Joseph’s parish.

James M. Carroll

NAHANT — James Michael Carroll, of Nahant, formerly of Lynn, passed on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. The loving husband of Kathleen (Flaherty) Carroll of Nahant and the son of the late Richard F. and Florence (Boucher) Carroll of Lynn. Jim graduated from St. Mary’s Boy’s High School, Northeastern University and he received his law degree from the Massachusetts School of Law.

Jim was the Director of Human Resources and Real Estate lawyer for Subaru of New England. He previously worked at the former T.W. Rogers in Lynn, the Federal Protective Service, and the Danvers Police Department as a special police officer and civilian dispatcher.

A longtime parishioner of St. Pius V in Lynn, he was active in the community with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Santa’s Helping Hands and the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 10.  

Jim enjoyed boating, traveling with Kathy and spending time with his family and dear friends.

In addition to his wife Kathy, Jim is survived by his son, Michael James and daughter-in-law Katie Carroll of Hoboken, N.J.; his beloved granddaughter, Riley Jane, and his granddog Harper. He leaves two brothers, Fr. John R. Carroll of St. John’s Parish in West Roxbury and Mark J. and his wife Nancy of Easton; sister, Janet and her husband Roger McCarthy of Lynn, and nieces and nephews, Sean, Katie, Patrick, Danny, Christian, Richard, Brian, Lauren, Leah and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his very special friend and neighbor James J. “Jim” Ruth of Lynn.

Service information: A testimonial will be held in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 248 Nahant Road, Nahant, on Saturday, June 9 at 1 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1:45 p.m. Burial will be private.

Wilfred J. Coté, 87

NAHANT — Wilfred J. Coté, age 87, of Nahant, passed away peacefully at a local nursing home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, with his family at his side after a lengthy illness.

Wil was the son of the late Louise (Balfour-Erwin) and Wilfred J. Coté Sr. of Norwich, Conn. Wil was born and educated there and graduated from Norwich Free Academy. He went on to graduate from Bentley College in 1956 on the G.I. Bill, having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After Bentley he met his wife, Anne C. DeLuca, of Nahant and married in 1961. He resided in Nahant for 60 years.

He worked as an accountant for CranBarry, a sporting goods company, in Marblehead, Lynn and East Boston for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan and held season tickets to the Patriots games for 25 years.   

He is survived by his former wife, Anne Coté of Nahant; his sons, Dana Coté of New York City, Gerald Coté of Nahant; and his daughter, Annette Coté of Swampscott; his granddaughter, Hailey Thompson of Carbondale, Colo.; as well as his younger brother, Paul Coté and his wife Theodora of Baltic, Conn.; his nephews, David Caulfield and Marc Coté and his niece, Tara Coté and their respective families. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alberta A. Caulfield (1985) of Norwichtown, Conn.

William R. Ford, 99

TEWKSBURY — William R. “Woody” Ford, age 99, of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Leah A (Bibeau) Ford, and a well-known member of the Tewksbury community since 1977.

A devout communicant at Saint William’s Church, and a previous coach, manager, and umpire in Tewksbury’s Little League Baseball Program. Many will agree to meet and speak with Woody was an enlightening experience. He had a sparkle in his eye, a constant grin, and was always ready with a song. Within a few minutes of meeting Woody one became a friend for life of this wonderful man.

Woody began his life journey in Lynn in October 1918, one of five children of the late Bernard and Mary (Winn) Ford, both Irish immigrants to the U.S. He was educated in St. Patrick’s Parochial Elementary School and went on to graduate from Lynn Classical High School. Woody enlisted into the U.S. Army at the outbreak of WWII with the Medical Corps 107th Evacuation Hospital Division. His stories of the perils of driving ambulances in combat conditions in France were spellbinding. He went on to earn five Battle Stars for his participation at the Normandy landings through the Battle of the Bulge. He maintained his friendships forged during WWII with active memberships in the 107th Evacuation Hospital Veteran Association. Additionally, he traveled vastly across the country to attend WWII conventions. Locally, Woody was frequently featured by the press in photos, and news stories around Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day events.

Post WWII, Woody had a 43-year long career with the Purchasing Division of General Electric, first in Lynn, followed by Wilmington. He continued his work in forging friendships and eventually became a Toastmaster of the GE Retiree’s Luncheon Club. Career aside, Woody and wife Leah’s proudest accomplishment was opening their hearts and home and becoming foster parents to 43 children over the years.

Woody was the beloved father of Robert F. “Chip” Ford of Marblehead, Diane M. Ford and partner Katharine Gilpin of Middleboro, John P. Ford and his wife Karen Ford of Loudon, N.H., David R. “Bob” Ford of Tewksbury, and daughter-in-law Lisa M. Ford of Woburn. He was the devoted grandfather of Jill (Ford) Logan and husband Richard, Kelly K. Ford, Thomas O. Ford, Kyle P.W. Ford, Megan L. Ford, and the late Sean Casey. The proud great-grandfather of Leah and Connor Logan. Predeceased by his siblings Bernard Ford, John Ford, Edward Ford, and Catherine (Ford) Babineau.

Albert J. Bergeron, 90

LYNN — Albert Joseph Bergeron, age 90, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Born on Aug. 14, 1927 in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Delora (Comeau) Bergeron. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Mary “Terry” (Thibodeau) Bergeron of Lynn, with whom he celebrated their 70th anniversary on May 23.    

Al graduated from the Industrial Arts High School in Lynn. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was an iron worker for American Architectural Co. in East Boston for 31 years prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a life member of the AM Vets Franco-American, Post #161 in Lynn. He was a parishioner of St. Jean’s parish in Lynn and was a fan of the Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots.   

Al was the loving father of Richard Bergeron of California and Elaine Wall and her husband, Carleton of Rockport; the cherished grandfather of Brittni Bouska and her husband, Jonathon, Brendan Wall, and Ashley and Kara Bergeron, all of California; and the uncle of  several nieces and nephews.

Janice Elizabeth (Nordstrom) Shirley-Gauthier, a life-long resident of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William and Bette (Baker) Nordstrom. Janice was raised and educated in Lynn. After high school, she worked as a secretary for Huse-Liberty Mica Company in Peabody and then at the General Electric Company. Her passion for hairdressing lead her to become a licensed cosmetologist in the 1970s. She worked at Charles Ro Salon before going into business for herself. She was also an accomplished seamstress. In 1998, Janice married John M. Gauthier.

In addition to her husband, John, Janice leaves her son, Eric Shirley and his wife, Stephanie of Belmont, N.H., her grandchildren Hannah and Nathan, her sister, Carol A. Dixon and her husband, David of Lynn, and her niece and nephew Beth Anne Smith and her husband, Marc of Lynnfield and Scott Dixon and his wife, Toni, of Peabody and a great-niece, Sofia Dixon.

George W. Stinson, 82

George W. Stinson, Sr., Lieutenant Colonel, 82, retired United States Army, Signal Corps of Hightstown, passed away on June 6, 2018. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Harry and Margaret (Gillespie) Stinson.

George was predeceased in 2003 by his beloved wife of 44 years, Ann Marie Stinson (neé Casey); his brothers Harry, John and Donald; his sisters Mary, Helen, Dorothy, Michelle and Barbara.

He is survived by his loving children George W. Stinson, Jr., and his spouse, Richard Riskin, of NYC; Pamela Hunt and her spouse, David, of Williamsburg, VA; Margaret Stinson and her spouse George Wolf, of Hightstown, N.J. and William Stinson of Washington State. Also, surviving are his sisters Margaret Stinson and Mona McGovern, both of Massachusetts, and his adoring grandchildren Rachel Hunt of Vermont, and James Wolf of N.J.

Service information: Visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave, Red Bank, N.J. on Monday June 11, 2018 from 4-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Avenue, Monmouth Beach, N.J. on Tuesday, June 12, 20189 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Norman T. Waitt, 79

LYNN — Norman T. Waitt, age 79, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2018.  Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late William and Doris (Booth) Waitt. A lifelong Lynn resident, he had lived at his current residence for the past 77 years.  He was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1956.

Norman served in the United States Army National Guard from 1957-1964.  He had worked for Musman Oil Company, and later for John’s Oil in Lynn, where he restored two oil trucks.  He had also co-owed a coin store in Wyoma Square, and always carried a lucky silver dollar. Norman loved antique cars, and for the first 55 years of his driving, he owned only three cars: a 1949 Ford Convertible, a 1956 Ford Thunderbird, and a 1963 Ford Ranch Wagon.  He was still a proud owner of two of these cars. Norman’s family has enjoyed a family camp at Province Lake in E. Wakefield, N.H. since 1928, a place at which he always loved spending time. Norman was a life-long fan of Mad Magazine’s Alfred E. Neuman. He also liked to go out to eat; particularly happy times spent at Luigi’s and Kelly’s with his friend Carole, and at Red’s Tavern with his friends, Paul and Bob. He enjoyed music from the 1950’s, and knew all the words, who sang it, and when it was released. His family recalls with a smile that at age 18, Norman told his brother David, “you can either have money or women, but you can’t have both.”  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Norman is survived by his daughter; Jenn Waitt; his brother David Waitt; his close friends; Carole, Paul and Bob, and his beloved cat, Mr. Rocky.  He was predeceased by his siblings; Bill, Al, and Carol; his longtime companion, Dolores “Dolly” Mason; and his former wife, Eleanor (Hayes) Waitt.

Mrs. Alice Mary (Thirens) Guiggio, at the age of 84, passed away on Saturday June 9 onto the hereafter, surrounded by those she loved the most. She was the wife of the late Ralph Guiggio.

She leaves a daughter Teresa M. Murray, her two beautiful grandchildren; Jennifer Alyce Murray and Catherine Evelyn Murray, her loving sisters-in-law Julia Rondino, Helen McCoy, Teresa Nania, and Louise DePlacido and her husband Peter, a brother-in-law Richard Durante, and several nieces and nephews including Carolyn Rondino and Harley Foremes Jr.

Alice was an avid Boston Sports fan, especially her Red Sox and Patriots. She enjoyed reading and watching Netflix on her IPAD.

Alice is predeceased by her parents George and Edith (Nazarro) Thirens, her sister Georgia Foremes, and brother-in-law Harley Foremes Sr.

She will be missed by all her nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.

SWAMPSCOTT– Lawrence Wellington Trott, age 79, of Swampscott, formerly of Lynn, passed away at Salem Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2018. Born on February 21, 1939 in Lynn, he was the son of the late Howard and Bernice (Warren) Trott. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Kenny) Trott with whom he shared 39 years of marriage and the loving companion of Marge Tedesco of Lynn and her family for 14 years.

Larry graduated from the Lynn Trade High School. He served in the US Marine Corps and in the US Navy Reserves as a “Sea Bee” for over 30 years of total military service. He was employed as a welder at GE in Lynn and Wilmington, and later Ametek in Wilmington for over 30 years prior to his retirement. Larry was an active member of the Peabody Elks, B.P.O.E. #1409.  He enjoyed dancing, bowling at Metro Bowl in Peabody, and golfing at Middleton Golf Course. Larry also enjoyed traveling and especially spending winters in Ft. Myers, Fla.

Larry was the loving father of Michael Trott and his wife, Joyce of Lynn, Patrick Trott of Swampscott, and Christopher Trott and his wife, Jennifer of Littleton, Colo.; the cherished grandfather of Jessica, Ryan, Gillian and Abigail Trott; the dear brother of Warren Trott and his wife, Vicki of New Hampshire and the late Robert Trott of Santa Maria, Calif., and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Joanne P. Droppers, 86

LYNN — Joanne Patricia Droppers of Lynn, age 86, died peacefully at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, after a short illness.

Joanne was born in Ithaca NY, March 29, 1932, the youngest child of Walter C. and Minnie W. Muenscher. She graduated with a BA in music from Cornell University in 1953. While at Cornell, she met Garrett Droppers, who sang bass in the choir she directed. They were married on August 29, 1953. The couple lived in Madison WI and Orono ME before settling in Alfred NY in 1961, where Garrett was a history professor. In addition to being a housewife and mother, Joanne was organist for several Episcopal congregations, a hand bell ringer, and violinist in local community orchestras. She also worked with migrant worker resettlement, housing for seniors, and served on the local school board.

She became a carillonneur member of the American Guild of Carillonneurs in 1976 and was appointed the Alfred University Carillonneur in 1977. She played concerts at many North American carillons and composed or arranged a number of songs for carillon, ranging from Bach’s Suite #II for Lute to Tubular Bells.

Upon her retirement in 1994, Joanne moved to Arlington VA. There she played carillon and organ, taught English as a second language, and volunteered for numerous organizations.

In 2005, she moved to Fargo ND where she was an active member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

In 2012, Joanne moved to Lynn MA. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Memorial Episcopal Church, where she served on the vestry and worked to increase dialog between the local community and the Lynn Police Department.

She was preceded in death by her husband Garrett Droppers, her brother Frank, and her sisters Elizabeth DeVelbiss and Helen Tryon. She is survived by her children: Seton Droppers, (Patty), Arlington VA; Christopher Droppers, (Jennifer Edwards), Staten Island NY.; Ann Droppers, Ipswich Mass.; grandchildren: Geoffrey Droppers, Portland Maine; Gregory Droppers, (Tiffany), Arlington VA; and great-grandchildren, Jovani and Hunter, of Arlington. VA.

Service information: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 11 AM, at St. Stephen’s Memorial Episcopal Church, Lynn, MA. Beverly L. Belliveau, 83

NAHANT — Beverly Louise Belliveau (Hutton), 83, of Nahant passed away peacefully on June 09, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly was born October 21,1934 in Swampscott to the late Gertrude and Reginald Hutton. A graduate of Lynn English class of 1952, Beverly married her high school sweetheart, Paul Belliveau. Together for 65 years, they raised three children Paula Bethune of Nahant, Michael Belliveau of Nahant, and Peter (Linda) Belliveau of Marblehead. Beverly worked in the GE Credit Union for 20 years. Upon her retirement, Bev and Paul enjoyed spending winters in Hobe Sound, Fla.

Up until recently, Beverly enjoyed working as an administrative assistant at Nahant Associates. She was also a member of the Nahant Garden Club. Beverly’s world revolved around her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a loving “Nana” to Christine (Andrew) Light Michael (Joy) Bethune, Aimee (Jason) Alcarez, and Sean (Therese) Belliveau. She will also be fondly remembered by her eight great-grandchildren Casey, Cameron, Anna, Mya, Morgan, Mila, Jamie, and Louis.

Beverly is survived by her identical twin sister Barbara and her husband Tom Kiley of Marston Mills, her sister Donna Sofronas of Swampscott, sister in-laws Edna Doran of Nahant and Lorraine Naples of Wolfeboro, N.H. She is preceded in death by her brother Thomas Hutton and sister Jean Caswell.

LYNN – Nancy Carol (Curtis) Anderson, age 89, a longtime resident of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, June 10th. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren H. Anderson with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage.

Born in Gilead, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Ernest B. and Mary (Arenburg) Curtis. She graduated from Haverhill, N.H. High School. She was an active member of Bethany Congregational Church and also served as past President of the Ladies’ Guild.

Nancy was a tirelessly loving and caring friend, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her ­ fininal days were a wonderful testament to her strength and never-failing faith. She was the mother of Susan Anderson of Millsboro, DE, Sally Wakeham and her husband, Stephen, and Cindy Winslow and her husband, Stephen, all of Lynn; the cherished grandmother of Andrew Atkins and his wife, Barbara of Deleware, Melissa Marino and her husband, Matthew of Beverly, Amy Kuhlman and her husband, Brett of Deleware, Dr. Joshua Wakeham and his wife, Brikena of Alabama, Erin Wakeham and her wife, Jennifer of New Hampshire, Megan Lynch of Lynn and William Lynch of Revere; the great-grandmother of 12 great-grandchildren; the dear sister of Ruth Doyle of Woodstock, Vt. and the late Patricia Mayberry, Norman Curtis, Marjorie Anderson, Phyllis Locke and Robert Curtis; and the aunt of several loving nieces and nephews.

Norma A. Stephanos, 92

LYNN — Norma A. (DuBois) Stephanos, age 92, of Lynn, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was the wife of the late Emmanuel G. “George” Stephanos. A lifelong Lynn resident, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Kathryn (Carmody) DuBois. She attended St. Mary’s grammar school, and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School, class of 1943. She had also received a certi­ cate from Nursing School in Boston.

Norma retired as Principal Clerk of the Lynn Police Department after 25 years of service. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish in Lynn, and a member of the Ladies Sodality. A longtime volunteer in the community, she was Past President of West Lynn American Little League, and was involved with many fund raisers at St. Mary’s and Lynn Classical. Norma was named “Ms. Senior Lynn” in 1991. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of many people, all of whom felt better for having known her.

She is survived by her four children; Kathy Geary and her husband Michael of South Hamilton, Bill Stephanos of Houston, Tex., Bob Stephanos and his partner Cassandra Carpenter of Royal Palm Beach, Fla. and Ann Marie Liberge and her husband Charles of Lynn; her grandchidlren; Anthony and Colleen Fava, Greg, Jenna and Brooke Stephanos and Christopher and Robert Liberge; her great-grandchildren; Alex, Kalianna, JJ and Angelina; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frances DuBois.

Alfredo Feula, 91

LYNN — Alfredo Feula, age 91, of Lynn, died Monday, June 4, 2018 in Florida, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Emma (Spagnolo) Feula, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Fondi, Latina, Italy, he was the son of the late Onorato and Gilda (Stravato) Feula. He came to the United States in 1956, residing in Lynn since that time.  

Alfredo worked as a machinist at General Electric in Lynn for many years, until his retirement at age 60. Prior to that, he had worked as a shoe cobbler in Italy. He was a very happy man who enjoyed dancing, making his own wine, and planting his own garden. He and his wife enjoyed winters in Florida, and loved to travel; including numerous cruises and trips to Italy and Las Vegas. He also enjoyed socializing with his friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two children, Gilda Oljey and her husband Dennis of Swampscott, and Dean Feula of Lynn; three grandchildren, Sean Peters, Gregory Peters, and Austin Feula; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Carmina Rotunno and Antonio Feula, and grandfather of the late Christopher Peters.
