Charlotte E. Ellis, 98

TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Mrs. Charlotte E. Ellis, 98, of Tewksbury and formerly of Lynn died Thursday, Jan. 19, at Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Earle S. Ellis, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Jessie (Alley) Dill, Sr. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1936. She was a member of the former Maple St. Methodist Church, where she was past treasurer and was a member of the Women’s Club. She was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and the Ivy Rebekah Lodge, I.O.O.F. Charlotte enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and going to the North Shore Music Theater. She was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Bruins games.

She is survived by two sons Robert and Marie Ellis of Sandown, N.H., Donald and Carol Ellis of Lynn, one daughter Cynthia and Ernest Poole of Wilmington, five grandchildren, Mark Poole of Dracut, Scott Poole of Boise, Idaho, Jason Ellis of Peabody, Neal Ellis of Beverly, Tina Landry of Shirley, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Harry W. Dill, Jr.

Service information: Visiting hours will be held at the PARKER Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn Tuesday from 10–11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Please make memorial donations in Charlotte’s name to Ascend Hospice 100 Locke Dr. Marlborough, MA 01752.
