PEABODY — Marguerite R. (McCurdy) Brown, 85, of Peabody, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Beverly Hospital with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late William Brown. She was born in Lynn on Feb. 11, 1931, the daughter of the late James and Leona (Goody) McCurdy. She later lived in Marblehead and Salem before moving to Peabody 16 years ago. She loved to be with and nurture her grandchildren. Marguerite also enjoyed playing cards and going to Bingo. She had been a volunteer at the Torigian Senior Center and had enjoyed animals and had many cats through the years.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Robert McGrath of Lynnfield and Marylee and Angelo Petruccelli of Greensboro, N.C., her cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Olivia McGrath of Lynnfield, William and Kenneth Mailloux, and Toniann Holmes of Greensboro, N.C. and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service information: A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Adelaide’s Church at 708 Lowell St., West Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
