SALEM — Mark Donahue, age 61, of Salem, died unexpectedly on Friday Dec. 9, 2016, at Salem Hospital, where he was taken after being stricken ill.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Robert and Lois (Shaw) Donahue. He was raised in Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. He has lived in Salem for the past 35 years.
For the past nine years, Mark has worked as a machinist at W. J. Roberts in Saugus. He loved spending time in Hampton Beach, N.H.
Mark is survived by his two children, Mark Edward Donahue, of Indiana, and Rebecca Donahue, of Rochester, N.H., two grandchildren, Tucker James Donahue, and Hannah Rain Donahue, his brothers and sisters, Michael and his wife Nancy, of Dover, N.H., Patricia Bloom and her husband Stephen, of Lynnfield, Kimberly Murphy and her husband Steven, of Exeter, N.H., John and his wife Linda, of Swampscott, and David and his wife Debbie, of Wakefield, N.H., his longtime companion, Janis Wheeler, of Salem, and several nieces and nephews.
Service information: Memorial visiting hours will be held on Tuesday Dec. 20, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn.
