LYNN — Alma P. (Pietraskiewicz) Zdanowicz, age 97, of Lynn, passed away at the Lafayette House in Marblehead on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016. She was born in Boston on Aug. 15, 1919, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Dziengelewska) Pietraskiewicz. She was raised and educated in the Roxbury area of Boston, and graduated from Girls High School.
She worked for more than 20 years as a clerk for the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Boston, retiring in 1988. Alma enjoyed playing BINGO with friends. She was also an avid reader of mystery novels. As a younger woman, she would enjoy going to the movies and going candle-pin bowling. When her children were young, Alma would often take them for day trips in her car, all over the Greater Boston area. She often enjoyed taking in a good show at the North Shore Music Theater, or in Boston. Mostly, she enjoyed the company of her family, whom she loved very much.
Alma was predeceased by her husband, Victor Zdanowicz in 1978, and her son, Peter Zdanowicz. She is survived by her son, John A. Zdanowicz of Lynn and her daughter, Constance B. Zdanowicz of Lynn. Her granddaughter, Charlene Zdanowicz of Taunton and her great-grandchildren; Jacob and Katelynn also survive her.
