ALFRED, Maine — Joseph A. Barbarino, 31, beloved son and brother, died from injuries he sustained in a car accident on Nov. 12, 2016 in Alfred.
Joe was born in Salem, on March 25, 1985, the son of Robert J. and Susan L. (Harris) Barbarino.
Joe lived his early years in Peabody, where he attended the Brown Elementary school. In 1996, along with his family he moved to Alfred Maine. He attended Alfred Elementary school and was a graduate of Massabesic High School, Class of 2003. During his four years of high school, Joe was a member of the ice hockey team and played drums in the school band. Joe also enjoyed playing in the jazz band in school. Music was an important part of Joe’s life.
From the age of 15, Joe honed his culinary skills and worked in the restaurant industry. He worked at Ken’s Place in Scarborough and at the Seafood Center Restaurant in Arundel, where he was well liked and respected by his fellow co-workers. For the past three-and-a-half years, Joe was the proud owner and operator of Joe’s Deli and Pizza, which was located within Sonny’s Convenience Store in Lyman. He soon had many happy customers enjoying his signature sandwiches and pizza. Joe was a thoughtful, caring and giving young man. For those who knew and loved Joe, your lives were enriched and better for having been a part of his life.
We will cherish our memories and love you until we meet you again, dear son and brother. . .
He is lovingly survived by his parents, Joe and Sue and his brother, John, all of Alfred; his paternal grandmother, Priscilla Barbarino of Salem; his maternal grandparents, John and Joan Harris of Beverly; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
