LYNN — Anthony C. Meneades, age 72, of Lynn, died on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Beverly Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carol (Lavoie) Long Meneades, with whom he shared seven years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Romilda V. (Negri) Meneades. A graduate of Lynn Trade, Class of 1961, he had lived in Lynn and Salem for the majority of his life.
He had worked as a truck driver for Dennis K. Burke Oil Co. in Chelsea and then for the Salem Trolley, which he drove until a few weeks ago.
Anthony loved his camera and was constantly taking photographs of everything. An upbeat person with a zest for life, he loved being around people and making them laugh. He was also a kind person who continuously did things for other people. He was grateful that some of his final days were spent vacationing in Las Vegas with his four brothers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Dena Meneades of New Hampshire; a son, Anthony Meneades and his wife Deborah of Haverhill, Emma Long, who he raised, along with his wife, as a daughter for the past seven years; his four brothers, Christes Meneades and his wife Grace of Georgetown, his twin brother Vincent Meneades and his wife Kathleen of Texas, Charles Meneades Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Lynn and Ralph Meneades of Salem, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
