SAUGUS — Mr. Thomas A. Ciampa, 57, formerly of Saugus, died unexpectedly Oct. 8, 2016.
Tom was born on Aug. 17, 1959, to the late Joseph and Ruth (Harrington) Ciampa. He was born and raised in Lynn, and grew up in America Park, Lynn’s housing for veterans. He was active in the community and was a member of the Lynn Boys Club and Boy Scouts. He attended Breed Jr. High School and Lynn Classical High School.
Tom was a very proud military man. He followed in his father’s footsteps, a WWII veteran. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, joining in 1976 and serving for 4 years. He was a part of 1stBn, 9thMar, 1stMarDiv. Tom was also very active at the Bedford VA.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Erik Peterson of Saugus, son Thomas Ciampa of Saugus, daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Chris Denn of New Hampshire, daughter Toni Ciampa of Orlando, Fla., grandchildren Gianni, Lilly, Aubrey, and Avery; brother John Ciampa of Lynn, sister and brother-in-law Julia and Bruce McBride of Lynn. He was predeceased by siblings Maria, Ellen, Joseph, and Elizabeth, all of Lynn.
Service information: A memorial gathering will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the TrueVine Church in Saugus followed by a burial at the Riverside Cemetery in Saugus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the TrueVine Church, 8 Prospect St. Saugus, MA.
