Joanne Durant, 74

LYNN Joanne (Lavino) Durant, 74, of Lynn, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2016, at a local nursing home, after being stricken unexpectedly. She was the wife of the late Floyd “Butch” Durant, who just died, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. She was the daughter of the late John and Nina (Kuzmin) Lavino. Born and raised in Lynn, she was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1960. Joanne lived all her life in Lynn and worked as a receptionist for over thirty years at Empire Linen Service on Myrtle Street. She enjoyed supporting West Lynn National Little League and Pop Warner, bowling and shopping.

She is survived by her three sons, Scott Durant and his wife Laura of Lynn, Derek Durant and his wife Carolee of Lynn and Keith Durant and his wife Dedra of Johnston, R.I., her daughter Amy Durant and her fiancé Melvin Lark of Lynn, grandchildren Kevin and Kyle Durant, Joseph Cabozzi, Jordan Lark, Willie, Andre and Alyssa Miller. She also leaves her great-grandson Jordan Lark Jr. She was the sister of Jack Lavino of Boulder, Colorado, William Lavino and his wife Carol of Lynn, Ronnie Lavino of Lynn, Joseph Lavino and his wife Rosa of Salem, N.H., Jean McAvoy of Lynn and the late Richard Lavino and Janet Heilman. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Service information: Her funeral will be held in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 1A) on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
