NORWAY, Maine — Wayne (Marshall) Warren, age 75, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, in Norway, Maine, after a long illness. He was born in Lynn on Dec. 9, 1940.
He was predeceased by his parents, Everett M. Warren and Isabel (Gibb) Warren. He was the husband of Pamm (Youker) Warren of Harrison, Maine.
He grew up in Lynn and graduated Lynn English in 1959, where he played basketball. He was captain of the basketball team. He worked as an electrician for several different contractors in Massachusetts and retired in 1996 with the title of general foreman, then moved to Maine. He was a longtime member of the IBEW Local 103 union.
His love of Alaska came from working on the Alaskan pipeline in the 1970’s. He loved to take road trips, including driving several times through Canada and Alaska, where he enjoyed seeing the polar bears. He was known to many as “the travelin’ man.” He also enjoyed visiting with his granddaughters, taking them boating on Long Lake and to Sissy’s Island.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Pamm, daughter, Kristen Neary and husband, Ted, of Peabody, son, Scott of Peabody, granddaughters, Kara and Melissa of Peabody. He is also survived by his aunt, Carol Wallace and several cousins, including Donna Nelson, along with many longtime friends. He also had two former wives, Virginia Warren of Peabody and Beverly Berig of Franklin.
Service information: Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday, Aug. 14, at The Olde Mill restaurant, 56 Main St., Harrison, Maine, from 1-4 p.m. Private services will be held at a later date.
