LYNN — Mrs. Judith A. (Cook) Jacobsen, 78, of Lynn, passed away on Sunday morning, June 14, 2020 at home with her loving children at her side. She is the wife of the late Richard F. Jacobsen.
Judy was born April 11, 1942 in Lynn, she is the daughter of the late Warren and Theresa (Ryan) Cook. She was a lifelong resident of Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School.
Judy worked at Norelco and later for Sylvania making light bulbs for many years until her retirement. After her retirement Judy worked at Essex Farm Convenience store for several years.
Judy enjoyed having friends and family at her Walter Street home where the family gathered to swim and share a lot of laughs.
Judy is survived by her children Richard F. Jacobsen and his wife Debbie of Beverly, Scott A. Jacobsen and his wife Kathleen of Bradford, Mark W. Jacobsen and his wife Melissa of Lynn, Debra A. O’Sullivan and her husband Brian of Highley, Ariz., Donna M. Brunelle of Hooksett, N.H., Kimberly A. O’Brien, her husband John of Swampscott and Tammy Jacobsen and her significant other Rob Newcomb of Lynn. Her two brothers Warren “Buzzy” Cook and his wife Barbara of Lynn, James J. ”Butchie” Cook and his wife Donna of Lynn; her two sisters Beverly Hanson and her husband Ronald of Groton, Conn., and Dolly Hellthaler of Carmel, N.Y. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, her five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Judy is predeceased by her granddaughter Tawnie Mazzone and her son-in-law Norman Brunelle.
Service information: Judy’s funeral will be in St. Pius V Church followed by burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Her visiting hours will be in the CUFFE-MCGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and to adhere to the CDC and the Massachusetts guidelines social distancing and masks are required.
