DANVERS — Mr. Richard Daniel Harris 86, of Danvers and longtime Lynn resident, died April 26, 2020, following a courageous battle with COVID-19.
Born in Saugus, he was the son of the late Leroy Irving and Anna Delia (Tammaro) Harris. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical. He continued his education at Boston University.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Harris had been employed as a Professional Bookkeeper for many years until the time of his retirement.
A kind and generous man, Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved days spent at the Horse races and at the beach and had a knack at games of chance. Richard made friends where every he went and his prince charming like personality endeared him to many.
Richard is survived by his niece, Michele Maurice, his great nieces and great nephews, Michael Lindsey and his partner Jessica, Corey and Heather Maclean, Shannon Badger and her husband Dylan and Alissa, Matthew and William Maurice and three great, great nephews, Logan, Riker and Maverick. He was the brother of the late Raymond Harris.
Service information: Funeral services will be privately held with military honors at a later date.
