Joseph Albert Lavoie Jr., died peacefully in the early morning hours of July 14, at Shore View House in Lynn. He was 94.
Joe is survived by his children, Paul Lavoie, Jane Lavoie, Robert Brown-Lavoie, John Lavoie and his husband, Raymond, Mark Lavoie and his wife, Susan, and nine cherished grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary (Herlihy) Lavoie, and his dear son, Michael Lavoie.
Joe was born July 29, 1921, in Boston. Joe was a proud graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Boston College. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in London during WWII. Joe loved his career as a giftware executive at Gorham and Lenox. He traveled throughout the world for both business and pleasure. His greatest joy was spending time with his extended family and friends. Ever the gentleman, Joe’s humor, kindness and optimistic spirit will be surely missed.
Service information: A memorial service will be held at Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead, on Friday, July 22, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shore View House, One Atlantic Terrace, Lynn, MA 01902.
