LYNN — Albert W. “Al” Dineen, age 43, of Lynn, died on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital from complications of a stroke he suffered eight years ago.
Born in Stoneham in 1976, he was the loving son of Albert P. and Sissie Dineen. Al was raised in West Lynn and attended Lincoln Elementary School, Breed Jr. High School and Lynn Classical High School. He was an honor roll student and participated in many plays while in school. An avid sports fan and athlete, he played baseball for West Lynn Little League and football for West Lynn Pop Warner and loved the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. Al owned and operated his own general contracting business, Al’s Construction in South Boston for many years and was a substance abuse counselor at Project Hope in Boston. He enjoyed bowling and watching TV, especially action movies from the 1980’s and 1990’s.
In addition to his parents Al and Sissie Dineen of Lynn, Al is survived by his son Cody McGovern of Salem, N.H.; his brothers, Patrick Dineen and his wife Terri of Lynn, Jared Dineen of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ryan Dineen of Peabody, David Dow and his wife Crystal of Salem, N.H., and Danny Dow and his wife Raquel of McArthur, Calif.; his grandmother Patricia Dineen and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Albert Dineen.
Service information: A Funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Lynn.
