PEABODY — Gloria M. (Gaudet) Rheault, 87, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died early Saturday morning surrounded by her loving family at the High Point Hospice House in Haverhill following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Andrew J., the love of her life, with whom she shared life’s best adventures.
Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Blanche (Gosselin) Gaudet. She attended St. Jeans School and was an active member until its closing. She also resided in Georgetown and Hampton, N.H., and has spent the last three years living in Peabody.
After raising her children, Gloria founded American Plate and Auto Glass in Danvers alongside her husband Andy.
She was very active in the community she lived. She spent many hours involved with Pine Hill Civic Association, both the Boy and Girl Scouts, Lynn Band Boosters, MDA Telethon Committee, the North Shore Old Car Club and the North Atlantic Packard Club.
Her family was a huge priority, and organizing opportunities to gather and entertain her family and many friends was a specialty. Her other favorite pastime was traveling, by boat, by plane, by car and by motorhome.
Gloria is survived by her four children, a daughter, Wendy Ormord and her husband Jim of Dracut; her three sons, Steven Rheault and his wife Kathleen of Haverhill, Alan Rheault of Lynn and Phillip Rheault of Salem; her beloved three grandchildren, Jody Tyrrell and her husband Dan, Mark and Michael Ormord; six precious great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Edgar Gaudet Jr. and Lorraine Doran.
