PEABODY — Marion Jane (Curley) Ruggiero died peacefully at her home in Peabody at the age of 87 with her family by her side.
Marion is survived by her children, Jane Kingsley and husband David of Tucson, Ariz., Chester McIntire of Exeter, N.H., David McIntire and wife Lisa of Marblehead, and Paul Ruggiero and wife Becky of Eddington, Maine; sister, Sandra Abbott of Lynn; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Thomas Curley, Robert Curley and Burton Curley.
Marion was born on June 12, 1932 in Melrose to Thomas and Mary Curley. She graduated from Lynn High School in 1950, and lived all her life on the North Shore. Marion will be remembered for her quick wit and her love of cooking, animals and music. In recent years Marion especially enjoyed the companionship of her faithful dog Billy. Marion was a generous individual who fiercely loved her family and treasured the many good times she celebrated with her siblings, children, grandchildren and friends.
The family would like to thank the North Shore Elders for their faithful and consistent care for Marion, and especially her special friend and caregiver, Jean Flynn.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 4-8 p.m. at the CUFFE-MCGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
