SALEM — Mrs. Winifred J. (LeBlanc) Walsh, 85 years, of Salem, died on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 in a local nursing home after a long illness. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James R. Walsh.
Born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Victor and Florence (Hopkins) LeBlanc, she was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She has been a resident of Salem for the past 58 years.
Mrs. Walsh was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, and also enjoyed reading and knitting.
Mrs. Walsh is survived by her children, Michael K. Walsh and his wife Kerin of Swampscott, Tracey A. Newman and her husband Buzz of Columbus, Ohio, and David S. Walsh of Salem; and her grandchildren, Lindsay, Emma, James and Leah Walsh.
Service information: Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. James Church, 160 Federal St., Salem, at 10 a.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
