Thaddeus W. Ukleja, 88

LYNN — Thaddeus W. “Ted” Ukleja, age 88, of Lynn, died Friday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Judith A. (Lamont) Ukleja, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. 

A lifelong Lynn resident, he was the son of the late Albert and Sophie (Szarek) Ukleja. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Boys High School, Class of 1948, attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed the GE Apprentice Course.

Ted proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a planner for General Electric in Lynn for 44 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a dedicated Boston sports fan.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Mark Ukleja and his wife Kristin, Karen Ukleja, and Eric Ukleja and his fiancée Shari Pataky; and three grandchildren, Emma, Samuel and Jack Ukleja, all of Virginia; his sister, Mary Ballard; his brother, Stanley Ukleja; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jane Cwalina.

Service information: At the request of the family, private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, Lynn.
