LYNN — Lina G. Doucette, age 95, of Lynn, died Wednesday at Life Care of the North Shore after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Doucette, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Grande Digue, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Hervie and Anna (Arsenault) Caissie. She attended schools in New Brunswick, moved to Lynn at the age of 21 and has resided in Lynn ever since. Lina was a communicant of the former St. Jean’s Church in Lynn and the St. Anne’s Society at St. Jeans. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, music and dance. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by five sons, Edward A. and his wife Emily Doucette of Haverhill, Richard R. and his wife Anne Doucette of Lynn, John W. and his wife Donna Doucette of Middleton, Hervie J. Doucette of Danville, N.H., Paul E. and his wife Deborah Doucette of Lynn; one daughter, Gloria A. and her husband Robert Coleman of Haverhill; two brothers, Bernard Caissie of Shediac, NB, Canada, Alvin Caissie of Grande Digue, NB, Canada, one sister Georgette Cormier of Bouctouche, NB, Canada; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also grandmother of the late Richie Roo Doucette and mother-in-law of the late Linda Doucette.
