Born on March 20th 1930, Audrey was the daughter of Malcolm and C. Lillian (Matthews) Wormstead. She was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1948.
Audrey and her beloved husband of 37 years, Henry, lived in Saugus until 1997, when they began spending the winter months in Naples FL. She faithfully attended the East Saugus United Methodist Church where she held many offices including president, secretary, and chairwoman. She sang in the choir for over 25 years and volunteered countless hours to the congregation. Audrey raised 2 daughters Carole M. Devine of Naples FL and Cathy E. Brown of The Villages, FL.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Malcolm and Lillian Wormstead, her husband Henry A. Resse, Jr. and her sister Joanne Leblanc. She is survived by her daughters Carole Devine and Cathy Brown, Sisters Bettyann Resse and Gloria Crompton, Grandchildren Kellie Balestrieri, Michael O’brien, Corrie Moran, William Allesandro, Keith Devine and Melanie Kilburn, Step-children John Resse and Linda McAdams. Step-grandchildren Jeffrey, Jake, Justin Resse and Christopher McAdams. She is also survived by 15 Great-Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered for her wit, her kindness and her cooking.
Service Information: Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00PM-8:00PM in the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn, with a Service to be held during the visitation. Following cremation burial will be on Thursday at 11:00AM in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the main gate of the cemetery at 10:45AM.
