LYNN — George Robert “Bob” Morse, age 90, of Lynn, died peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center in Hudson, Fla. He was the husband of the late F. Ann (Peckham) Morse.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John and Kate (Willey) Morse. He was raised in Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School, Class of 1947. Bob has lived in Lynn since 1953.
Bob was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army in 1951 and 1952.
He had worked for AT&T for many years and then had operated Morse Communications, Telephone and computer wiring.
He was an avid skeet shooter, shooting three times per week, and had won the world championship for skeet shooting in San Antonio, Texas. He was also a member of the Danvers Fish and Game and the Minuteman Sportsman’s Club. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia A. Burke and her husband Michael of Lynn, and Nancy Sousa and her husband Dean of Pelham, N.H.; two grandchildren, Meghan Burke and Cameron Burke; a close friend, Alphia “Vera” Spampinato of Salisbury; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late John Jr., Everett, Russell, and Joseph Morse, and Louise Lindemoor.
Service information: A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
