SALEM — Louis J. Corsino Sr., age 91, of Salem, died Sunday after an automobile accident. He was the husband of the late Shelia A. (Saunders) Corsino.
Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Alexander and Clara (Giancola) Corsino. He was raised in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. He had lived in Lynn for many years before moving to Salem more than 20 years ago.
Louis served in the United States Army Military Police Battalion during World War II. He had worked as a welder for General Electric in Lynn for many years until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos, and traveling with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna M. Buckley and her husband Daniel of Lynn, Louis J. Corsino Jr. and his wife Corinne of North Reading; his daughter-in-law, Nancy Corsino of Tyngsboro; six grandchildren, Daniel Buckley Jr., Andrea Carey, Louis J. Corsino III and his wife Margaret, Candice O’Connell and her husband Timothy, Danielle Corsino, and Anthony Corsino and his companion Jessica Masotta; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Buckley, Michael Carey, Alyssa Corsino, Roman Adair and Aubrey O’Connell; two great-great-grandchildren, Blaise and Phoenix Buckley; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Anthony Corsino and brother of the late Sammy Casino, Johnny Casino, Angelo Corsino, Nellie Skrudgis, Grace Colontonio, and Julia Leggero.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
