Paul R. MacDonald, 62

LYNN — Paul Richard MacDonald, age 62, of Lynn, died suddenly after being stricken ill at his home, on Monday February 4, 2019. He was the husband of Sharon (Cox) MacDonald, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born in Wallasey, England and a lifelong resident of Lynn, Paul was the son of Charles and Rosemary (Lin) MacDonald of North Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1974.

Paul was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a Corporal from 1976-1980 with the 385th Signal Company.

Until his retirement in 2018, Paul had worked as a Postal Clerk at the Lynn Post Office for 20 years. He was also the former owner of the Central Square Jewelry and Loan.

Paul enjoyed fishing, golfing, attending concerts, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, at the family’s camp on Mousam Lake in Acton, Maine. He was an avid Patriots fan.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul is survived by 2 sons; Paul MacDonald Jr. and his wife Sharon of Wilmington, and Kevin MacDonald and his partner Deirdre Carroll of Lynn, a sister Sharon Darling and her husband Donald of Acton, Maine, a brother Jon MacDonald and his wife Tammi of Tewksbury, 2 grandchildren; Devin and Cody MacDonald, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Service information: His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com
