SAUGUS — Robert Gillespie, formerly of East Boston and Revere, age 84, died on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at his home in Saugus.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Frazier) Gillespie. He worked as a postal clerk for the United States Post Office, Airport Division at the Logan Airport postal facility. He was a U.S. Army, Korean War veteran and had been a resident of Saugus since 1965.
Mr. Gillespie leaves three sons, Robert Gillespie Jr. of Peabody, Steven Gillespie of Tewksbury, Mark Gillespie of Danvers; two brothers, Leo Gillespie of Saugus and Francis Gillespie of Stoneham. He is also survived by four grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son Brian Gillespie, one grandchild and four brothers, John, William, Arthur and Albert.
