Louise E. Darrah, 87

DANVERS — Louise E. (Hall) Darrah, age 87 years, of Danvers, formerly of Peabody and Lynn, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur Darrah, and the daughter of the late Francis and Doris (Brooks) Hall.

Born in Boston on Jan. 10, 1929, she was raised in Lynn and moved to Peabody after she was married, where she and her husband Arthur raised their family. A graduate of Lynn English High School and the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, Louise worked as a pediatric nurse for Lynn Hospital and later as a geriatric nurse at Liberty Pavilion in Danvers. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn.

Louise enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, playing bingo and playing the piano. However, most important to Louise was the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, James Darrah and his wife, Claire, of Peabody, her daughters, Frances Boltas of Amesbury and Paula Krukonis of Beverly, her six grandchildren, Lisa Bisson, Erin and Bryan Renaud, Christopher, Samantha and Nicholas Krukonis, as well as six great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Francis Hall.

Service information: A funeral service for Louise will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m., in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
