LYNN — Mr. Joseph F. Leone, of Lynn, died on Oct. 29, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is the husband of Mrs. Ellen F. (Lazurek) Leone.
He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Sante and Dorothy (Smith) Leone. He was raised in Lynn and was a 1960 graduate of Lynn English High School. He also attended Burdette College. He has lived in Lynn most of his life.
He was a member and past commodore of the Lynn Yacht Club. He enjoyed boating and music. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed in sales for food stamps. Previously he worked in the banking industry.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 55 years of marriage, he leaves his daughter, Brenda Rogato of Lynn; and son, Michael Leone of Lynn and his girlfriend Kimm Smith of Lowell; his grandchildren, Jason Rogato and his wife Jena of Lynn, Jessica Gerardo and her husband Alberto of Lynn; his great-grandchildren, Jason, Jackson, Camron, Alberto, Juliana and Franciela. He also leaves his brothers and sisters, Sandra Zitano and her husband Edward of Swampscott, Dorothy Leone of Lynn, Mary Pickering and her husband Michael of Lynn, James Leone and his wife Sharon of Lynn, Richard Leone and his wife Susan of Lynn, Ronald Leone and his wife Michelle of Maine; sister-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” Leone of Peabody. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Robert Leone.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn. Burial in Swampscott Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
