DANVERS — Virginia I. (Newcomb) Sabean, 97, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody and Lynn, died early Tuesday morning at the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Howard C Sabean.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Stevenson) Newcomb. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1939. She later lived in Peabody for more than 40 years and has resided in Danvers these past six years.

Virginia enjoyed watching soap operas, cake decoration, and loved her animals, however, her favorite endeavor was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and sharing in all of their activities. She will be dearly missed.

Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Jean Sabean of Danvers, and her two beloved granddaughters, Amy and Alison Sabean of Danvers. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert, William, and Eunice Newcomb.

Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the CONWAY, CAHILL-BRODEUR Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. For directions and online obituary, visit www.ccbfuneral.com.
