SAUGUS — Mrs. Regina A. (Kmiec) Twomey, 70 years, of Saugus, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 in the North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital after a brief illness. She is the wife of the late Paul F. Twomey.
She was born in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Waldemar and Cecilia (Blekicki) Kmiec. She was raised in Saugus, and was a graduate of Saugus High School, Class of 1966. She attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and was a graduate of the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in Hanover, N.H. She has lived in Saugus most of her life.
Regina was a registered nurse who worked for the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Program. She also worked for area nursing homes, including Phillips Manor in Lynn and Hammersmith in Saugus. Regina enjoyed quilting and belonged to a local guild. Gina most enjoyed family gatherings, baking holiday cookies, decorating birthday cakes, making gingerbread houses and teaching arts and crafts to her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Christine M. Harris and her husband James of Lynn; her niece and nephew, Kerri Lewandowski and her husband Matthew of Chester, N.H., and David Harris and his wife Michelle of Georgetown; her great niece and great nephews, Kayce, Ryan, Ayden, Cameron and Zachary. She also leaves her beloved cat, Honey.
Service information: Her memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
