SAUGUS — Mr. Mark Palermo, age 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 2 after his brief, but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Drozdowicz) Palermo, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, son of Paul and Antonia (Quasarano) Palermo, Mark spent his early years in East Boston before the family resided in Saugus. A resident of Saugus for the last 50 years, Mark worked most recently as a skilled plumber at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and previously for Ametek Aerospace in Wilmington.
Mark was known by many as a dedicated family man and hard worker who would go above and beyond for anyone; family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. To those who knew him best, he had an infectious smile and an unbeatable sense of humor.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mark is survived by his three loving children, Michael Palermo of Saugus, Jennifer Palermo of California, and Christine Palermo of Saugus. He was the brother of Paul Palermo Jr. of Ludlow, Edward Palermo of Peabody, David Palermo of Saugus, and Jeffrey Palermo of Danvers. Mark is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Donations in Mark’s memory may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers @ give.caredimensions.org.
Service information: The family will host a Celebration of Life at a future date. For obit and condolences www.BisbeePorcella.com. Arrangements by BISBEE-PORCELLA Funeral Home, Saugus.
