LYNN — George R. Champigny, age 66, of Lynn, died suddenly at his home on Monday. He was the husband of Catherine L. Champigny, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Roland and Alice Champigny. He was a graduate of Lynn Trade School, attended Emerson College, and also completed the GE Apprentice Course. George had worked as a tinsmith, retiring from both General Electric and Kraft Foods.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Rachel Achenbach and her husband Seth; his son, Tim Champigny; his granddaughter, Zoey Achenbach; his siblings, Julie Burke, Anne King, and Raymond, John and Donald Champigny; as well as several nieces and nephews.
