LYNN — John R. LeBlanc, age 62, of Lynn, died on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, surrounded by his loving family, from injuries he sustained during a fall at his home on May 24. He was the loving husband of Lynne (Sperlinga) LeBlanc.
Born in Saugus in 1955, John was the son of Alfred LeBlanc and his late wife Joanne and Ernestine (Meaney) Quinn and her husband Paul. He was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School.
John worked as an advanced aircraft engine mechanic at the General Electric River Works Plant, West Lynn for more than 43 years, retiring on April 1, 2017 and was a member of IUE-CWA Local 201.
Known as “Johnny Jeep” by his family and close friends, he was the proud owner of many Jeeps throughout his lifetime, until his recent switch to trucks, of which he owned a Ford F150 that he loved. John was a simple guy, who liked to spend time at home cooking meals for everyone in his family or tending to his garden of tomatoes. Away from home, he was a frequent visitor to some of the local bars and could always be found at Market Basket at 7a.m. every Sunday morning. Growing up, he enjoyed playing baseball and later played park league softball in Lynn for many years. He enjoyed socializing and traveling with his family and friends especially to Florida and Aruba. John was a loving son, husband, brother, uncle and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his parents, Alfred LeBlanc of Lynn and Ernestine and Paul Quinn of Lynn; his wife, Lynne LeBlanc of Lynn and her children Kalyn and Christopher Karassas; his brother, James LeBlanc and his wife Dawn of Danvers; his sister, Donna Mason and her husband Larry of Lynn; his sister-in-law, Beth LeBlanc of Englewood, Fla; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Anne Sperlinga of Saugus; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Jeff Cole of Bradford, and his many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was the brother of the late Paul LeBlanc and Cheryl LeBlanc.
Service information: A memorial service will be held in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
