LYNN — Pauline V. Wykes, age 86 years, of Lynn, died Sunday at Salem Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Owen W. Wykes, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Florence (Coulter) Carone. Pauline attended Swampscott schools, and graduated from Swampscott High School, Class of 1949. She was employed as a book keeper, for three companies, Swampscott Refrigeration, then T. W. Rogers, and she retired from the Girls Club of Lynn. She was a member of Bethany Congregational Church. Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Neal C. and his wife Lynne Wykes of Naples, Maine; one daughter, Laurie N. Abbott of Lynn; one brother, Fredrick Carone of Intervale, N.H.; three grandchildren, Andrew Wykes, Amanda Dutremble, Megan Hall; two step grandchildren, Robin Riendeau, Robbie Hubbard; three great-grandchildren, Greysen Wykes, Aria Dutremble, River Hall, three step great-grandchildren, Reece and Regan Riendeau, Avery Hubbard; four close friends, Bill and Sue Erwin of Lynn, Loretta Pohle of Lynn Joan Baker of Lynn, and several nieces and nephews.
Service information: Funeral services will be held at the PARKER Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St., Lynn, on Thursday at 11 a.m., to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Swampscott Cemetery. A collation will follow committal services at Bethany Church.
