SAUGUS — Mr. Daniel “Danny” Panico, age 75, passed away on August 6 after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Marilyn (Platt) Panico with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Chelsea and raised in Saugus, Danny was the son of the late Victor and Gladys (Nickerson) Panico. He graduated from Saugus High School in 1960 and worked as a sales associate at Sears in Saugus until his retirement in 1998. Danny was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Saugus, the Saugus Food Pantry and he was a former committee member of Boy Scout Troop 62.
In addition to his wife, Danny leaves three beloved children, Cheryl Panico of Saugus, Dan Panico and his wife Heather of Beverly, Allen Panico and his wife Rebecca of Saugus; four cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Chloe, Allen J. and Lily Panico; his dear sister Patricia Tabbi and her husband Joseph of Hampstead, N.H. He will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and longtime friend Howie Stowe.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Danny’s name may be made to the First Congregational Church, UCC, 300 Central St., Saugus, MA 01906.
