LYNN — Elizabeth A. (Jablonski) Gecoya, age 99, of Lynn, beloved wife of the late Guy “Chick” Gecoya and loving daughter of the late Stanislaw and Mary (Blazak) Jablonski, died July 17, 2017, at a local nursing home surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised and educated in Salem, she was employed with the former Linden Shoe and Signa Mfg. and retired as an aide at the Washington Elementary School. Elizabeth was a member of the P.L.A.V. Post 56 Aux. the St. Michael’s Rosary Sodality, St. Hedwig’s Society, a former communicant of St. Michael’s Church and the Gannon Golf Course Inner Club. She was an avid golfer and walker and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons Thomas G. Gecoya and his wife Carol of Saugus, Patrick R. Gecoya and his fiancée Linda J. Lange of Lynn and Marblehead, her grandchildren Joan DiPasa, Patricia Lennan, David Gecoya and the late Deborah Gecoya Cole, great-grandchildren Christina, Alex, Dominic, Nicholas, Kyle, Dominick, Daniel and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Jablonski and Helen Gadala.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the NADWORNY Funeral Home 798 Western Ave., Lynn, Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by her Mass of Christian burial in Holy Family Church at 11 a.m. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours Thursday from 4–8 p.m. Knights of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. for services.
