HOUSTON, Texas — John Francis Crowley Jr. passed away after a lengthy illness on June 22, 2017 at age 67 in Houston, Texas, with his daughters at his side.
Born in Lynn on Oct. 15, he was the son of the late John F. Crowley Sr. and Frances E. (Coen) Crowley. He was the grandson of Patrick and Catherine (O’Brien) Crowley and James and Rosabell (Young) Coen. He leaves his wife Kathleen (Hanlon) Crowley of Bay City, Texas.
He also leaves his daughter Dee Copley and husband Drew and their children Cassie, Michael, and Lily of Sugarland, Texas. Also his daughter Frances Johnson and Wesley Sharpe and her daughters Kharmella and Harleigh of Houston, Texas.
John graduated from St. Joseph’s grammar school and Lynn English High. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a recipient of a Bronze Star.
Prior to moving to Texas, he worked as an engraver at the Record-American in Boston and worked in Houston as a tractor and diesel mechanic.
He loved reading mystery novels and enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in law Patricia and Paul Linke of Lynn, and several neices and nephews.
Service information: Burial was on Monday, June 26 in the Houston VA National Cemetery with full military honors. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
