John M. Dunleavy, 76

PEABODYJohn M. “Jack” Dunleavy, 76, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers with family at his side. He was the husband of Janet (Kushnieruk) Dunleavy, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Jack was born in Lynn on Oct. 10, 1940, the son of the late Joseph A. and Ruth E. (Devaney) Dunleavy/Sutherland and resided in Peabody all his life.

He had been employed at Stride Rite Shoe, Boston for many years and then joined the Reebok Shoe Co. as manager of New Products for 30 years prior to his retirement.

Jack traveled all over the world for Reebok to places like Malaysia, China, and Indonesia to troubleshoot new shoe designs. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan.

He is survived by his wife Janet; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Dana Dunleavy of Arlington, Va., and Marc and Colleen Dunleavy of Hudson; his three precious grandchildren, Jackson, Mason and Logan Dunleavy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul Dunleavy of Swampscott, Robert and Rita Dunleavy of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a sister, Sheila Sirois of Lynn, three aunts and many cousins.

Service information: A visitation will be held at CONWAY, CAHILL-BRODEUR Funeral Home in Peabody on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Grove Street, Lynnfield, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
