PEABODY — Epstein, Richard H., of Peabody, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at Lahey Clinic in Peabody.
Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Bernard and Lillian (Kessel) Epstein of Swampscott. Richard was raised in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High in 1973.
After high school, he worked at Carlson Lumber Company in West Roxbury. Before his retirement in 2004, Richard was employed at Crowninshield Management Company in Peabody.
Richard was a gentle man with an easygoing personality to match. He looked forward to going to his weekday program at Element Care in Beverly, where he has many friends and staff who enjoyed seeing his smiling face. Richard appreciated all the wonderful and caring people who were instrumental in his daily care over the last years. He will be missed by many and will be remembered for his sweet temperament.
Richard is survived by his loving twin brother, Robert Epstein and his wife Jeanne of Peabody; his two beloved nephews, Michael and Mark Epstein of Peabody; his daughter, Jamie Bazzinotti of South Boston; and his two grandchildren, Sebastian and Savannah.
Service information: A memorial service celebrating Richard’s life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 1 p.m. at STANETSKY-HYMANSON Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA 01970. The burial for Richard will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Element Care, 100 Cummings Center, Suite 166D, Beverly, MA 01915.
